How to cancel your Resume Genius subscription
To cancel a Resume Genius subscription, sign in, open My Account, choose My Subscription and click Cancel Subscription. You can also call (866) 215-9048 on weekdays, email [email protected] or use live chat. Download your resume first: its terms say that after cancelling you can only view your documents.
Building, editing and downloading are free. Downloading the PDF needs a free account.
Every step and contact detail here is from Resume Genius's own FAQ, terms of use, contact page and pricing page, read on October 3, 2026.
Before you start: download your resume
Do this first. Resume Genius's terms (section 3) say: "Once your subscription is cancelled, you will only be able to view your documents and you will not be able to download, print or edit them." Download every resume and cover letter you want to keep, as PDF and Word, while your plan is still active.
Find the charge
Its contact page says: "Depending on where your transaction was processed, the listed merchant will either be ResumeGenius, ResumeGenius.com, STL*ResumeGenius, STL*Alt.resumegenius.com, STL*resumegenius.com, STL*pay.resumegenius.com, STL*bill.resumegenius.com, Stl.resumegenius.com, or PayPal *RGENIUS". Note the date and amount: you will want them if you ask for a refund.
If you see the charge but do not remember signing up, its pricing page suggests searching your email (spam folder included) for messages from Resume Genius, then trying the "Forgot Password" page with each email you use. If you are still unsure, it says to contact customer service by phone or chat.
As of October 3, 2026, its pricing page says the 14-day trial "Auto renews after 14 days at $23.95 billed every four weeks", and the annual plan "Auto renews annually."
Option 1: cancel online
Its FAQ gives these steps:
- Log in to your Resume Genius account.
- Select the profile icon and click My Account to open your account settings.
- Select My Subscription at the top of the window.
- Click Cancel Subscription and follow the instructions to the end.
Its FAQ puts the profile icon in the "upper-left corner"; its terms say the My Account link is "located in the upper right-hand menu". Look in both corners.
The pages we read do not say whether Resume Genius sends a confirmation email when you cancel online. Take a screenshot of the final screen, and keep any email you receive.
Option 2: cancel by phone, email or chat
Its pricing page says: "Easily manage your cancellation via email, phone, or directly through your account dashboard."
| Channel | Details, as listed on October 3, 2026 |

What Resume Genius's terms say about refunds
Section 4 of its terms: "ResumeGenius.com may provide a full refund to customers who are still within their 14-day subscription term. Customers who wish to redeem a refund must contact customer service prior to the end of their trial subscription term either by calling customer support at (866) 215-9048, emailing [email protected] or by using live chat via resumegenius.com."
The same section says that when you cancel, the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and "Remaining part of the subscription remains active and is not refundable."
Its pricing page lists a "14-Day Money Back Guarantee". So a refund request belongs in your cancellation message, sent by phone, email or chat before day 14, as in the email above. Its terms name customer service as the way to ask for a refund, not the cancel button in your account.
If you are still charged after cancelling
Steps 3 and 4 are the FTC's advice for any subscription:
- Write to the company. Email [email protected] with the date you cancelled, your screenshot or confirmation, and the charge you are disputing. Keep a copy, and notes of any calls.
- Watch your statements for charges after the date you cancelled.
- Contact your card issuer. The FTC says to file a dispute with your credit or debit card company if a company keeps charging after you cancel, and to keep any letters, notes or emails about what happened.
- Report it to the FTC or to your state attorney general, if it is not resolved.
What Resume Genius does well here
Resume Genius gives you four ways to cancel: in your account, by phone, by email and by live chat, and its terms say you can cancel "at any time without additional charges". Its refund window covers the full 14 days of the trial. Use it, and download your files before you go.
If you still need a resume after cancelling, ResumeGood lets you build, edit and download one free; the download needs a free account.
