How to cancel your Resume.io subscription
To cancel a Resume.io subscription, open the Cancel Subscription form on its contact page, enter the email you signed up with, then confirm from the email it sends. You can also cancel in Account Settings, or email [email protected]. Its help centre says refunds are only possible within 7 days of creating your account.
Building, editing and downloading are free. Downloading the PDF needs a free account.
Every step and contact detail here is from Resume.io's own help centre, terms, pricing page and contact page, read on October 3, 2026.
Before you start: find the charge
Resume.io's billing article says its payments "will generally appear on your bank or card statement as: RESUME.IO". Note the date and amount: you will want them if you ask for a refund.
Its help centre says the trial renews into a subscription "billed every 4 weeks" if you do not cancel within 7 days, and that the cycle is "28 days" from the moment of your first payment, not a calendar month. If you do not know which email you used, the cancel form suggests looking for "a welcoming letter from resume.io" in your inbox.
Option 1: cancel with the online form (no sign-in)
- Go to resume.io/contact/cancel-subscription (its contact page, "Cancel Subscription" tab).
- Enter the email you used to register, and click Cancel Subscription.
- Open the email Resume.io sends and follow its steps. Its help centre says: "You will need to confirm the cancellation by following the steps provided via email."
- If the email does not arrive "within a few minutes", check your spam folder or search your inbox for "resume.io", as its help centre suggests.
If the form does not find your email, its help centre suggests trying another address you might have used, then cancelling from the app or emailing [email protected].
Option 2: cancel in Account Settings
- Sign in at resume.io.
- Click your profile photo in the upper right corner and choose Account Settings.
- Use the downgrade option at the top of the Account Settings page, and follow it to the end.
- Wait for the confirmation email.
Its help centre says that if you bought six-month or yearly access, "your plan will not auto-renew, so you will not see an option to downgrade."
Finish the cancellation, do not extend. Its help centre says that if you were charged after trying to cancel, "it may be because you selected a subscription extension instead of completing the full cancellation process", and that when the extension ends the subscription is reactivated and billed. If you are offered an extension and want to leave, decline it and carry on to the end.
Option 3: cancel by email
Resume.io's terms say cancellation "must be effected by electronic means, in the same manner as the subscription was entered into, via your account or by email to [email protected]." Its help centre gives [email protected]. Its contact page also has a contact form with a "Cancel Subscription" topic. The pages we read list no phone number.
An email leaves a written record with a date. Here is one to copy:
Only ask for what is true for you: delete the refund line if more than 7 days have passed.

What Resume.io's pages say about refunds
They do not all say the same thing, so here are all three:
- Pricing page: "If you purchase a plan and decide within 7 days that you didn't get your money's worth, we'll give you a refund."
- Help centre: "Our refund policy allows refunds only within the first 7 days of account creation. If more than 7 days have passed, the subscription is not eligible for a refund, even if no premium features were used." It adds that refunds cannot be issued after 7 days "even if you attempted to cancel before renewal."
- Terms: "Your cancellation will take effect at the end of the current paid term. No refunds will be provided for our subscription services." They also say "Some of our services may include a specific guarantee", pointing to the package descriptions.
Note the help centre counts the 7 days from account creation, not from your payment. If you made a free account weeks ago and paid today, ask anyway, in writing, and keep the reply.
If you never get a confirmation
Its help centre: "When a cancellation is successful, the system sends a confirmation email. If you did not receive this confirmation, the cancellation may not have been completed." Until you have that email, treat the subscription as still active. Its terms say it "will promptly confirm receipt of your cancellation by electronic means, so that you have proof of cancellation."
If you are still charged after cancelling
Its help centre says that if you received a cancellation confirmation and were charged afterwards, it will ask its billing team "to review the issue". Steps 3 and 4 are the FTC's advice for any subscription:
- Write to the company. Email [email protected] with the confirmation email, the date you cancelled and the charge you are disputing. Keep a copy.
- Watch your statements for charges after the date you cancelled.
- Contact your card issuer. The FTC says to file a dispute with your credit or debit card company if a company keeps charging after you cancel, and to keep any letters, notes or emails about what happened.
- Report it to the FTC or to your state attorney general, if it is not resolved.
What Resume.io does well here
You can cancel from a web form without signing in. The confirmation email gives you proof. Its help centre says documents you made on a paid plan stay available to download after you downgrade, so cancelling does not lock your resume away.
If you still need a resume after cancelling, ResumeGood lets you build, edit and download one free; the download needs a free account.
