Is Resume Now free? Here is where payment starts
Partly. Resume Now's own terms say building your resume and downloading a .txt version are free. PDF and Word downloads come with its paid plans: as of October 2, 2026, its pricing page lists 14-day access at $2.45, which auto-renews at $23.95 every 4 weeks unless you cancel.
Building, editing and downloading are free. Downloading the PDF needs a free account.
Everything below comes from Resume Now's own pricing page (read on October 2, 2026), and its terms of use, contact page and help article (read on October 3, 2026). On October 3 its pricing page refused our connection, so the prices are as of October 2. Prices change, so check the checkout page before you pay.
What you can do on Resume Now without paying
Resume Now's terms (section 10.1) say: "ResumeNow offers different tools and information that is free to use and access such as building your resume and downloading a .txt version."
| Free, by Resume Now's own pages | Part of a paid plan, by its pricing page and help article |
|---|---|
| Building your resume | "Unlimited downloads", described as "multiple file formats, including PDF and DOC" |
| Downloading it as a .txt file (with a free account) | Downloads that use its premium templates |
Its help article puts the line in one place: "If you want to download a version using one of the premium templates, you'll need to upgrade to paid access."
A .txt file has no layout: no columns, no fonts, no design. It is fine for pasting into an application form. If you want a designed PDF, on Resume Now that is where payment starts.
Where payment starts, as of October 2, 2026
| Plan on the pricing page | First charge | Then |
|---|---|---|
| 14-Day Full Access | $2.45 | "After 14 days, auto-renews at $23.95, billed every 4 weeks. Cancel anytime." |
| Annual Access | $70.20 ("$5.85/month") | "Billed annually at $70.20. Auto-renews each year. Cancel anytime." |
Two things worth knowing before you choose:
- Every 4 weeks is not monthly. A year has 13 four-week periods, so if the 14-day plan renews and you never cancel, that is 13 charges of $23.95 a year, or $311.35 (our arithmetic from the listed price).
- Its own pages do not all show the same price. The help article about using the builder for free says "our 14-day trial is only $1.85" and that it "renews at $23.85 every four weeks". The pricing page says $2.45 and $23.95. Resume Now's terms (section 10.2) say "The specific billing terms for the services you order will be described on the offer page on the Site", so the checkout screen you see is the one that counts.
